Most hard disk drives fail due to: 1. Power Causes: When there is inconsistent power supply to your PC i.e. Your PC goes off and on maybe due to battery failure. This can inherently lead to Hard Disk failure.  Tip: Always have a working battery and ensure you are using the right watt of charger power. Not below Not above. 2. Falling to the Ground: Unlike the SSD (Solid State Drive), the HDD is made up of moving parts. If you've ever had to get you ears close to a running hard disk. You will certainly hear a few components spinning. This is because the HDD is made O  up of moving components. Therefore falling off to the ground is a NO-NO 3.Virus or Firmware Upgrade:  A virus or malware can even encrypt your data holding it for ransom or even destroy it to be lost forever.
